What happens after you order
- We check it and ship it. We pick your part by its part number and ship it from our New Jersey warehouse, with tracking. Added your VIN? We check the part against your car first and contact you if anything doesn’t match.
- You pair it with your alarm system. It programs to the alarm or remote-start unit in your car, not to the car itself. Most learn in a few minutes with the alarm’s valet or program button; the steps come in the box. An installer can also do it.
- Done. Still stuck? We help. Call 386-586-3650 or email help@remotesandkeys.com. If it won’t work with your car you have 30 days to return it.
Questions before you buy
How do I know this fits my car?
Match the FCC ID on the back of your old remote, or the model of your alarm system (on the alarm’s control unit or in its manual), to the one in the specifications on this page. These fit the alarm, not the car, so a VIN can’t tell. Not sure? Send us a photo of your old remote.
Which condition should I choose?
All conditions do the same job in your car: same buttons, programmed the same way. The difference is how it looks and what it costs.
- Aftermarket New: a new copy built to the same spec, without the car maker’s logo. The lowest price.
- Pre-owned: genuine and tested, in its original case with visible wear. Works the same, costs less.
Do I need to program it, and how much does that cost?
Yes, to your alarm system. Most alarm remotes learn with the alarm’s valet or program button in a few minutes, no tools, no cost; the steps come in the box. If your system needs it, an installer can program it.
Will my old keys still work?
Program all your remotes in the same session. Most alarm systems forget any remote that isn’t programmed along with the new one.
What if it doesn’t work with my car?
Call us first. Most problems are solved on the phone. If the part doesn’t fit or won’t program to your car, you can return it within 30 days. See our return policy.
How fast will I get it?
In-stock orders ship from New Jersey with tracking. Shipping options and prices are shown at checkout before you pay.

Four different remote controls can be programmed for a given vehicle. If a 5th remote is added the 1st is deleted. When the first code learned command is sent, all the old codes are cleared. Therefore, if you want to add a new remote, all the old ones must be programmed as well. A hood pin is required for the programming procedure associated with this remote.
Programming procedure:
1. Open hood.
2. Place key in ignition and turn to RUN position.
3. Apply the brake once.
4. You now have 10 seconds to turn the key from RUN to STOP position 3
times.
5. If this sequence is correctly carried out, the control module flashes
parking lights.
6. Press any button on the new remote control (except the panic button).
When access code of new remote is memorized, the control module will
respond with 1 flash of the parking lights.
7. Repeat the above procedures for each remote control that has to be
programmed, up to four remotes.
