How do I know this fits my car?

Look at the back of your current regular remote, or inside the battery cover. If the part number or the FCC ID printed there matches the one in the specifications on this page, it’s the right part.

Lost your key, or can’t read it? Type your VIN when you order and we check it before we ship. Your VIN is on your registration, insurance card, or the driver-side bottom of the windshield.

Which condition should I choose?

All conditions do the same job in your car: same buttons, programmed the same way. The difference is how it looks and what it costs.

  • OEM New: a genuine factory part from the car maker, never used. The same as the dealer’s, usually for less.
  • OEM Refurbished: genuine part, restored and tested by a locksmith, with a new battery. Works and programs just like OEM new. Comes in a logo case when we have one, otherwise a new case without the logo.
  • Aftermarket New: a new copy built to the same spec, without the car maker’s logo. The lowest price.
Do I need to program it, and how much does that cost?

Yes, a new key or remote has to be programmed to your car before it works. How depends on the year and trim: on some you do it yourself at the car with a short sequence of key turns and button presses (the steps come with it, no tool, no cost); on others a locksmith or dealer connects a programming tool. Send us your VIN and we’ll tell you which before you buy.

Will my old keys still work?

Bring every key you want to keep using when the new one is programmed. On many cars programming clears any key that isn’t there at the time.

What if it doesn’t work with my car?

Call us first. Most problems are solved on the phone. If the part doesn’t fit or won’t program to your car, you can return it within 30 days. See our return policy.

About this part

All vehicled that use this remote are onboard programmable.  This means you can program the vehicle to accept remotes yourself.  Easy instructions are included.  We provide free phone tech support to help you program it if needed.

Remote For GMC Chevrolet Cadillac:

The FCC ID on the back of your remote is KOBLEAR1XT.  The remote has 3 buttons and transmits it's signals on 315 MHz.  GM's part number for this remote is 15042968.  Our remotes are been tested to ensure they send proper signals.  This remote works on 2001-2004 Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC Trucks.

Programming Procedure:

1. Close all vehicle doors, windows closed, wait for dome light to go off.
2. Insert the key into the ignition.
3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver?? door panel-continue to hold down until instructed to release in step 9.
4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine).
6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
8. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
9. Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically.
10.Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks. This step may take up to 30 seconds.
11.Repeat step 10 for each additional transmitter (including any existing transmitters).
12.Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.
