What happens after you order

  1. We check it and ship it. We pick your part by its part number and ship it from our New Jersey warehouse, with tracking. Added your VIN? We check the part against your car first and contact you if anything doesn’t match.
  2. A locksmith or dealer programs it to your car. There is no do-it-yourself sequence for this one: it needs a programming tool plugged into the car. An automotive locksmith usually costs less than the dealer and often comes to you. Programming isn’t included in our price, so ask for a quote first. What to say when you call: “I have a new 1995 Oldsmobile 98 Remote ABO0303T ABO0302T. I need it programmed to my car. How much, and when can you do it?” Find an automotive locksmith near you
  3. Done. Still stuck? We help. Call 386-586-3650 or email help@remotesandkeys.com. If it won’t work with your car you have 30 days to return it.

Questions before you buy

How do I know this fits my car?

Look at the back of your current regular remote, or inside the battery cover. If the part number or the FCC ID printed there matches the one in the specifications on this page, it’s the right part.

Lost your key, or can’t read it? Type your VIN when you order and we check it before we ship. Your VIN is on your registration, insurance card, or the driver-side bottom of the windshield.

Which condition should I choose?

All conditions do the same job in your car: same buttons, programmed the same way. The difference is how it looks and what it costs.

  • OEM New: a genuine factory part from the car maker, never used. The same as the dealer’s, usually for less.
  • OEM Refurbished: genuine part, restored and tested by a locksmith, with a new battery. Works and programs just like OEM new. Comes in a logo case when we have one, otherwise a new case without the logo.
  • Pre-owned: genuine and tested, in its original case with visible wear. Works the same, costs less.
Do I need to program it, and how much does that cost?

Yes, a new key or remote has to be programmed to your car before it works. This one has no do-it-yourself sequence: a locksmith or dealer connects a programming tool to the car. Prices vary by area, so call one or two automotive locksmiths for a quote; they are usually cheaper than the dealer.

Will my old keys still work?

Bring every key you want to keep using when the new one is programmed. On many cars programming clears any key that isn’t there at the time.

What if it doesn’t work with my car?

Call us first. Most problems are solved on the phone. If the part doesn’t fit or won’t program to your car, you can return it within 30 days. See our return policy.

How fast will I get it?

In-stock orders ship from New Jersey with tracking. Shipping options and prices are shown at checkout before you pay.

About this part

This remotes works on a bunch of years and models and they all get programmed the same way with one exception.  The one exception is the 1995 Buick Riviera. This one vehicle isn't onbaord programmable, meaning that scan tool programming is required. You can get this done by a local automotive locksmith. The programming instructions are easy to follow and we have free tech support if needed.

Remote For Buick Oldsmobile Pontiac:

This is a replacement for the factory keyless entry remote. The remote is tested on keyless entry testers to ensure proper functioning before we send it to you. The original FCC IDs for this remote were ABO0302T and ABO0303T with three buttons.

Programming Procedure:

For 1995 Riviera:

This vehicle is not onboard programmable which means you will need a an automotive locksmith to program the vehicle to accept the replacement remote or key or to cut a key. Please use an automotive locksmith rather than the dealer. You are
likely to get a better service for a more reasonable price.

For 1994-1995 Lesabre, 1994-1995 Park Avenue, 1995 Aurora, 1994-1995 Eighty Eight, 1994-1995 Ninety Eight, 1994-1995 Bonneville:

IMPORTANT: Before entering programming mode, have in possession all of the transmitters you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the transmitter, all previous codes will be erased from the memory. The other transmitters will not be functional until you program the transmitters again.

1. Insert keys in ignition and leave in OFF position.
2. Locate the Data Line Connector (DLC) underneath the driver?? side dashboard. Use the figures below as a map for your DLC (they usually aren?? numbered) based on how your DLC is positioned. The view in the picture below is looking straight into the cavities of the DLC. Notice how the DLC is tapered on both ends: we will be working on the wider row of cavities (1 through 8 in the figure below).
3. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 8 and 4 and connect the Data Line Connector (DLC) terminal 8 to terminal 4 with a suitable jumper wire (leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure). Make sure you know which terminals are 8 and 4. The vehicle will respond by cycling the locks (locking then unlocking doors) to signify entering of programming mode.
4. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons together on the first transmitter to be programmed. After about 30 seconds, the vehicle will respond by cycling the locks (locking then unlocking doors). Release the buttons on the transmitter.
5. Within one minute, repeat step 4 on the remaining transmitters to be programmed.
6. Remove the jumper wire applied to the DLC (disconnect terminals 8 and 4).
7. Test transmitter(s) for function.

For 1991-1992 Park Avenue, 1992-1993 Eighty Eight, 1992 Ninety Eight:

1. Insert the key in ignition and leave in the OFF position.
2. Locate the Data Link Connector (DLC) under driver?? side dashboard. Use the figure below to find the A and G pins.
3. Connect pins A and G of the DLC with a suitable electric wire. Receiver will respond by locking and unlocking doors within 2 seconds.
4. Press the UNLOCK button on the first remote to be programmed. Vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
5. Press UNLOCK button on second remote to be programmed. Vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
6. Disconnect jumper wire between pins A and G.

For 1993 Ninety Eight and 1992-1993 Bonneville:

1. Locate the Data Link Connector underneath the driver side dashboard. Use the diagram to identify the pins.
2. Ground pin G of the DLC. The receiver will respond by locking and unlocking the doors within 2 seconds.
3. Press any button on the first remote to be programmed. The door locks will cycle again.
4. Repeat step 3 for an additional remote (if any). The door locks will cycle again.
5. Remove the ground applied to pin G.

For 1991 Ninety Eight:

1. Make sure ignition is in the OFF position.
2. Locate the programming connector behind the passenger side instrument panel (accessed by opening the glove box and looking to the top left side, where it is held in place by a clip). It is a plastic connector with two wires leading up to it. The connector is not plugged into anything. You will have to pull out the inner tray of the glove compartment to access the connector.
3. The programming connector has two terminals. Connect both terminals with a suitable jumper wire. The keyless entry module will cycle the door lock motors once. Make sure the jumper wire remains connected throughout the procedure.
4. Press the unlock button on the first remote. In response the keyless entry module will cycle the door lock motors again.
5. If a second remote is to be programmed (including your old one), press the unlock button on the second remote. Door locks cycle again.
6. Remove jumper wire.
