Questions before you buy
How do I know this fits my car?
Look at the back of your current plain key, or inside the battery cover. If the part number or the FCC ID printed there matches the one in the specifications on this page, it’s the right part.
Lost your key, or can’t read it? Type your VIN when you order and we check it before we ship. Your VIN is on your registration, insurance card, or the driver-side bottom of the windshield.
Which condition should I choose?
All conditions do the same job in your car: same buttons, programmed the same way. The difference is how it looks and what it costs.

Do I need to program it, and how much does that cost?
Yes, a new key or remote has to be programmed to your car before it works. How depends on the year and trim: on some you do it yourself at the car with a short sequence of key turns and button presses (the steps come with it, no tool, no cost); on others a locksmith or dealer connects a programming tool. Send us your VIN and we’ll tell you which before you buy.
Will my old keys still work?
Bring every key you want to keep using when the new one is programmed. On many cars programming clears any key that isn’t there at the time.
What if it doesn’t work with my car?
Call us first. Most problems are solved on the phone. If the part doesn’t fit or won’t program to your car, you can return it within 30 days. See our return policy.
How fast will I get it?
In-stock orders placed by 3 pm ET on a business day ship the same day from New Jersey, with tracking. Shipping options and prices are shown at checkout before you pay.
About this part
Have a local locksmith cut the key to work your vehicle. No programming is needed - just make sure you choose the correct resistor value for your vehicle.
In order to choose the correct VATS key Resistor Value:
1. Use a multimeter to measure the Ohms value of the thin strip of metal on the plastic oval on the keyblade of your key. Place both probes of the multimeter on the strip while testing.
2. Choose the Resistor Value that most closely matches the Ohms value of your key's chip.
3. Use your vehicle's Year, Make, and Model to find the correct key, then order the correct Resistor Value for your key's Ohms value.

works just as it should for my car
2004 Buick Century Double Sided VATS Transponder Key
Had issue with OEM key resistance and couldn’t reliably get my c5 started. These new keys did the job!
Worked as advertised.
Easy to select my correct resistance key from their selection. Correct key delivered quickly, and it works great. I feel better having some spare keys again.
