Questions before you buy
How do I know this fits my car?
Look at the back of your current regular remote, or inside the battery cover. If the part number or the FCC ID printed there matches the one in the specifications on this page, it’s the right part.
Lost your key, or can’t read it? Type your VIN when you order and we check it before we ship. Your VIN is on your registration, insurance card, or the driver-side bottom of the windshield.
Do I need to program it, and how much does that cost?
Yes, a new key or remote has to be programmed to your car before it works. How depends on the year and trim: on some you do it yourself at the car with a short sequence of key turns and button presses (the steps come with it, no tool, no cost); on others a locksmith or dealer connects a programming tool. Send us your VIN and we’ll tell you which before you buy.
Will my old keys still work?
Bring every key you want to keep using when the new one is programmed. On many cars programming clears any key that isn’t there at the time.
What if it doesn’t work with my car?
Call us first. Most problems are solved on the phone. If the part doesn’t fit or won’t program to your car, you can return it within 30 days. See our return policy.
How fast will I get it?

About this part
Factory keyless entry remote with FCC ID AB01502T and 4 buttons. 315 Mhz transmitter with 4 buttons. All vehicles that use this remote are onboard programmable. This means that you can program your vehicle to accept the remote without any special tools or knowledge. Remotes are tested on keyless entry testers to ensure it will work on vehicles equipped with the factory keyless entry system. The GM part number for the remote with trunk logo is 16245104. The GM part number for the remote with rear 2x logo is 16245100. Your old remote either says part number 16245100-29 or 16207901-5 on the back.
There are two versions of this remote. One has the Trunk icon on the 4th button while one has a Rear2x icon instead. It does not matter which you choose to buy because they are both the same, electronically speaking. You can use one to replace the other and vice-versa.
How to program it: Programming Procedure #235
- Locate the Programming Connector leading to the receiver (See Figure) in the trunk (passenger side). It is plastic connector with one black/white wire leading up to it, The connector is not plugged into anything. Often the programming connector is located on the right hand side of the trunk taped to the wiring harness near the antenna nest. You may have to pull out back the right side trunk trim to access the oonnector.
- The programming connector should have one terminal. Ground this terminal to the trunk batch or a nearby bolt. The door locks will automatically cycle (lock then unlock) to indicate initiation of programming mode. Make sure the programming connector stays grounded throughout the programming.
- Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter for 10 seconds until the door locks cycle. Your new remote has been accepted and all existing remote been erased.
- Repeat the previous step for each of the remaining transmitters (including any existing transmitters). Do not remove ground between programming of transmitters.
- Remove the jumper wire from the Keyless Programming Connector.
