Questions before you buy
How do I know this fits my car?
Look at the back of your current regular remote, or inside the battery cover. If the part number or the FCC ID printed there matches the one in the specifications on this page, it’s the right part.
Lost your key, or can’t read it? Type your VIN when you order and we check it before we ship. Your VIN is on your registration, insurance card, or the driver-side bottom of the windshield.
Which condition should I choose?
All conditions do the same job in your car: same buttons, programmed the same way. The difference is how it looks and what it costs.
- Pre-owned: genuine and tested, in its original case with visible wear. Works the same, costs less.
- OEM New: a genuine factory part from the car maker, never used. The same as the dealer’s, usually for less.
Do I need to program it, and how much does that cost?
Yes, a new key or remote has to be programmed to your car before it works. How depends on the year and trim: on some you do it yourself at the car with a short sequence of key turns and button presses (the steps come with it, no tool, no cost); on others a locksmith or dealer connects a programming tool. Send us your VIN and we’ll tell you which before you buy.
Will my old keys still work?
Bring every key you want to keep using when the new one is programmed. On many cars programming clears any key that isn’t there at the time.
What if it doesn’t work with my car?
Call us first. Most problems are solved on the phone. If the part doesn’t fit or won’t program to your car, you can return it within 30 days. See our return policy.
How fast will I get it?
In-stock orders placed by 3 pm ET on a business day ship the same day from New Jersey, with tracking. Shipping options and prices are shown at checkout before you pay.

The original remote features LOCK, UNLOCK, TRUNK, and LIGHTS buttons. The frequency is 318 MHz. Your original remote has an FCC ID of AB00702T. GM originally made this remote with part number 10178734. Later they discontinued that part number and superseded to 10269729.

GM discontinued the original remote and it is no longer available.
How to program it: Programming Procedure #185
- Switch ignition to the ON position (don’t crank engine).
- Locate the Programming Connector (See item 2 in Figure 4) at the back end of the trunk base (not the trunk lid) above the rear bumper. You may have to pull back the trim to access the connector. It is a plastic connector with one wire leading up to it that is NOT plugged into anything.
- The connector should have one terminal. Ground this terminal to a suitable location (bolt, antenna, etc.) and keep it grounded until completion of the programming sequence. Within 2 seconds of grounding the programming connector, the door locks will automatically cycle (lock then unlock) to indicate entry into programming mode.
- Press the UNLOCK button on the first transmitter TWO TIMES (pause one second between presses). In response, the door locks will cycle once within 2 seconds. (NOTE: If only one transmitter will be used, press the UNLOCK button TWO TIMES again on the same transmitter and the door locks will cycle once more.)
- If a second transmitter is to be programmed (including your old one), press the UNLOCK button on the second transmitter TWO TIMES, pausing one second between presses. In response, the door locks will cycle once within 2 seconds.
- Remove the jumper wire from the Keyless Programming Connector and switch ignition OFF.
