Description
When there aren't 2 working keys to use to initiate programming, an automotive locksmith is required for programming. If there are two keys already working with the vehicle, this can be programmed with an included easy to use customer programming procedure.
Remote Head Key with FCC ID OHT692427AA. The Jeep part number of this remote is 68003461AA, 68291092AA or 68291092AB. This remote has 6 buttons (Lock, Unlock, Panic, Hatch, Rear 2X Glass, Remote Start), tested and guaranteed to work.
Programming Procedure:
Make sure you have two keys that will start the vehicle before beginning the procedure.
1. Cut the new key to match your existing keys.
2. Insert the first valid key into the ignition and turn the ignition on for more than 3 seconds but less than 15 seconds. Turn the ignition off and remove the first key.
3. Within 15 seconds, use the second valid key to turn the ignition to on. After 10 seconds a chime will sound and the theft alarm light will begin to flash. Turn the ignition to off and remove the second key.
4. Insert the newly cut invalid key into the ignition and turn the ignition to on within 60 seconds. After 10 seconds a single chime will sound. The theft alarm light will stop flashing, then it will turn on for 3 seconds; then it will turn off. The new key has been validated and will be able to start the vehicle. If it was a remote head key then the remote will now operate the keyless entry system. Repeat this procedure for up to 8 keys.
The following vehicle can use this remote when equipped with the factory keyless entry system:
