Do I need to program it, and how much does that cost?
Yes, a new key or remote has to be programmed to your car before it works. How depends on the year and trim: on some you do it yourself at the car with a short sequence of key turns and button presses (the steps come with it, no tool, no cost); on others a locksmith or dealer connects a programming tool. Send us your VIN and we’ll tell you which before you buy.
Will my old keys still work?
Bring every key you want to keep using when the new one is programmed. On many cars programming clears any key that isn’t there at the time.

About this part

Remote For Isuzu:
Remote is tested on keyless entry testers to ensure it is sending proper signals. The original remote's FCC ID is BAB237131-013 with 2 buttons.
Programming Procedure:
1. Remove the driver?? side lower dashboard panel to access the keyless entry brain.
2. Turn the ignition to ON.
3. Press and hold the green programming button on the side of the unit with a pen or pencil. You will have to poke through a hold about the size of a pencil located on the side. When the exterior or LED lights go on, release the programming button.
Do step 4 within 5 seconds of step 3.
4. Press and release the top button on the remote. Check that the LED goes out, the siren chirps, and the front lights flash to confirm that the remote has been accepted.
5. If you have other remotes to program repeat steps 3 and 4.
6. Turn the ignition to OFF.
The following vehicles can use this remote when equipped with the factory keyless entry system:
Isuzu Oasis (1996), Isuzu Rodeo (1996-1997), Isuzu Trooper (1996-1997), Isuzu VehiCROSS (1999-2001).
How to program it: Programming Procedure #477
- Move the driver’s seat forward and locate the security system control unit mounted on the floor underneath the seat.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Press and hold the green programming button on the side of the control unit with a pencil point. You will be poking through a hole about the diameter of a pencil on the side of the unit. When the system security system LED on the instrument panel comes on, release the programming button. (steps 3 and 4 must be done within 5 seconds of each other.)
- Press and release the top button of the remote. Check that the LED goes out, the siren chirps once, and the front marker lights flash to confirm.
- If you have other remotes then repeat steps 3 and 4.
- Turn the ignition to OFF to exit programming mode.
