This means that you can program your vehicle to accept the remote without any special tools or knowledge. Remotes are tested on keyless entry testers to ensure it will work on vehicles equipped with the factory keyless entry system. The GM part number for the remote with trunk logo is 16245104. The GM part number for the remote with rear 2x logo is 16245100. Your old remote either says part number 16245100-29 or 16207901-5 on the back.
There are two versions of this remote. One has the Trunk icon on the 4th button while one has a Rear2x icon instead. It does not matter which you choose to buy because they are both the same, electronically speaking. You can use one to replace the other and vice-versa.
