Hence the term "clone," our clone remote is only capable of copying the functions that the original remote did. For example, if your old remote has a LOCK and UNLOCK button, only the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the clone will work. The other two buttons will do nothing because your old remote didn't have two more buttons. If your old remote had three buttons then three buttons will work on the clone.
You are supposed to buy the clone remote because it is better, cheaper, and comes with a longer warranty. You are not supposed to buy it because it has more buttons than your existing remote and you want additional functions that your system is not capable of.
