Probably not. This is a common problem with rolling code remotes. When the battery is changed the receiver loses synchronization with the remote. The remote starts rolling from the beginning of it's codes and the receiver continues from where it left off last. The solution is to re-synchronize. To do this, consult the owner's manual of your vehicle. It can usually be found in the section where it tells you how to change the batteries in your remote.
Common resynch procedures:
GM vehicles: Stand by the driver door and hold down LOCK and UNLOCK together for about 8 seconds. the horn will beep or the locks will cycle if it is successful.
Chrysler vehicles: Stand by the driver door or sit in driver seat and press the LOCK button 5 times at 1 second intervals.
Some Honda: Stand by the driver door and press the LOCK button 6 times.
